As you may be aware, the US government has recently implemented plethora of changes in Government supported programs that have also resulted in the pause of PVSA award processing for all organizations and schools. We understand this may cause uncertainty, but we want to assure you that our core team continues to support you by providing letters of recommendation and completing necessary documentation. Several of our AJ students got good Internships, College admissions, and NHS awards even without PVSA reference. In the meantime, continue accruing volunteer hours, as we expect the PVSA award process to resume again. Thank you for your understanding and continued commitment to volunteering.
Letters of recommendation are important because they provide a trusted, third-party perspective on a person's skills, character, and work ethic. They help validate a candidate’s qualifications and potential through real examples from mentors, teachers, or supervisors. These letters can significantly influence admissions or hiring decisions by adding credibility and depth beyond grades or resumes. Our core team give personalized letters based on your need and will get them to you as soon as possible.
Internships are important because they provide hands-on experience that helps students and early professionals apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. They also offer opportunities to build valuable industry connections and gain insights into potential career paths. Additionally, internships often enhance resumes and increase the chances of securing full-time employment after graduation.
NHS awards are important because they recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These awards highlight a commitment to academic achievement and community involvement, setting recipients apart in college and scholarship applications. They also encourage continued personal growth and civic responsibility among student leaders.
"Hey everyone, as Sri Uncle mentioned, I know some of you might be feeling uncertain about the PVSA pause, but I just wanted to share a bit of reassurance from my own experience as a current junior in high school. Even without having the PVSA award listed, I was still able to receive strong letters of recommendation from the core team and those letters made a big difference for me while applying to programs in the summer. It’s actually really easy to request a letter as the core team is super supportive and knows how to highlight the work we’ve done as volunteers, so don’t stress too much about the PVSA being on hold. Keep volunteering and tracking your hours, and know that the support is still there for you when you need it. The efforts you dedicate to volunteering are always recognized." - Sid Alluri
"I completely agree with Sid. Even though I didn’t mention getting the PVSA award in my application to my school’s NHS program, the recommendation letter from Asha Jyothi’s core team helped me a lot to get into the program. The core team is very supportive and will always be there to help you. Even though the PVSA awards are paused, it is still valuable to get volunteer hours as Sid said. Keep volunteering and they will be recognized in some form in the future." - Advaith Elluru
